What can be saved if the motor walks?

:dsm: eh, difficult to say unless you know the extent and damage. has your motor been diagnosed? crankwalk damage is relative to the amount of time that it has been walking.

to answer your question, if my 7 bolt starts walking, i'd just buy a fully rebuilt 6 bolt on ebay for a 6 bolt swap. they're only about a grand, and plus you get a boost friendly motor that 99.9% of the time wont walk on you.

hope this helps, pm me if you need anything else:dsm:

how does it bend valves? The car has 5k miles and I think it's starting to walk. Clutch sticks on lauches.

It wont bend valves, LOL.

If it gets too bad though it will damage the block. Most cases have a damaged crank and CPS. But the block can have issues if it goes for too long.

I would suggest looking under your dash and seeing if your clutch master cylinder is leaking and take a look at the slave cylinder as well. It is possible, good luck.

do you have personal experience with the ebay motors? or are you just generalizing ebay merchandise? i only ask because i heard good things about the Kar King rebuilt 6 bolts, from guys on here. and i was also thinkin of buying one if mine starts to walk on me

Buying a motor off of ebay is just like buying a motor off of one of your friends its a chance that you take. The only way to guarantee the motor is build it yourself. However Some ebay dealers offer a short warranty so therefore i would try them first. ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE MAKING A PURCHASE OVER EBAY IT CLEARS UP ANY AND ALL CONFLICTS.

If you haven't dealt with Ebay for engines, keep the comments to yourself. A vendor, as mentioned previously (Kar King), sells their engines on Ebay because Ebay is a good selling tool and readily available/relatively well known.

On-topic: I ditched everything from my old motor. Going complete 6 bolt w/ EIII 16g.
