What are these holes for?

Basically I'm an idiot and forgot what these holes in my block are for during the process of installing my new engine. :D Here's a picture of my old engine, I circled the holes in question in green, and the ones I know in red. Sorry for the poor quality, I can provide clearer ones if necessary. I labeled the knock sensor, intake mani support bracket, and air compressor bracket.

I was also curious as to what this hose coming out of my firewall is for...

Just to name a few things for the holes.....carrier bearing for the axle, a/c bracket, and intake support bracket.

On my 94 7 bolt, but it seems the same for my 6 bolters........

Upper right-not used
Upper left-not used
Bottom- used in conjunction with the right lower A/C mount to hold Carrier bearing for left front axle shaft

Remember to install bolts in those unused holes so that I can beat you in a race by .00001 seconds! :sneaky:

Hope that helps.

Hey-I hope you didn't pay extra for all that extra black paint globed in the middle of your engine!

Finally a reply, thank you! And no wonder that bottom right AC bracket bolt wouldn't go all the way back in...haha.

As for that big glob, I don't have a clue what it is and I don't care, because that's my old engine :thumb:

I hate to bump this thread all over again, but I do actually have a bolt that goes in that upper left hole. See, while transfering everything from my old engine to the new longblock, I took a bolt out of said hole and stuck it into the corresponding hole of the new engine. I'm pretty sure I didn't mix anything up. So are you sure it isn't used?
