If you need cam caps, buy another head with matching caps. Not only would you need to buy cam caps, but would also require the head to be align bored.

420a overhaul manual

make sure you don't over torque the cam cap bolts, you will pull the threads out. It is 20 ft lbs for the outer caps with the larger bolts and 9 ft lbs for the rest.

there will be an "L" and a "R" , and 2 arrows pointing to the timing side . they are cast into the head, you cant miss them. the caps will have the same.. this is to indicate the side and direction they need to be installled . #1 is the on closest to the timing belt. #6 is the tranny side

Its in the service manual also.

I think the "black things" the OP is referring to are the alignment dowels. They help locate the cam cap bolts. The original cam caps have ID marking on them to ensure they go back in the same location/orientation.

Based on the questions you have been asking about rebuilding the head, I highly suggest having the head rebuilt by a professional, especially if you are in a hurry. If you really want to try it out, I would buy a junk head to learn on.

Hey OP, be careful putting your engine back together. If you don't know what you're doing you can screw a lot of things up and you'll be tearing the engine apart again in no time. look into getting a manual for these cars are thoroughly read through any sections you're about to work through. Make sure to get a torque-wrench.
