What are some of the top alarm systems?

I wanna rig up explosives to my motormounts so I can blow the engine out of the bay, after getting car jacked. Or even better, the drivers seat.

just go with a viper..they now have the smart start..its a remote start and alarms and it sends you nottifications to your iphone or android. also you can start, lock or unlock from anywhere you have cell phone service

ok so my car just got broken into and im getting a DEI 2 way pager alarm system. The people are freaking idiots that broke in because all they took was a $40 ratchet set and left my $200 oakleys, $250 worth of gauges, $100+ capacitor for amp and sub setup, $100 radio, and at least $100 worth of misc items that all can be taken in an arm full. BUT I am not gonna chance it so with this I will have a fuel and starter kill.

don't go viper, they are over priced unnecessarily. clifford (y)
i have a turbotimer and alarm system all in one set up on my car. remote start, trunk release etc. forget the brand though.

Sorry to hear about that! I like the Clifford and Viper alarms, too. What sucks is, usually we wait to get alarms until it's too late. Perhaps he just needed to finish up his 6-bolt install and wrote and IOU note and put it somewhere in the car? ROFL

My car is equipped with a viper alarm, too. I was very happy about it when I got the car. It's about 7 years old, the siren isn't workin atm (Idk if I'm happy about that or not) and I often have trouble with the remote (battery mount is broken). Besides that it's cool to lock and unlock the car with a remote. Next time I'll get something like this I guess:

Advanced Keys - AK-104B Smart Key with Push Start System

The newest model of the viper alarm is bad ass the 5901 I believe can't remember the model. You can get it for around 300 online and take it to best buy and get installed for around 200 which saves you around 200-300 dollars if you buy the system out right from them. This is what I'm about to do to my car. You can even do all the functions with your smart phone start, lock, unlock. Going to be badass.

Be careful buying online. Some companies won't honor the warranty if the product wasn't bought from a dealer. Just because a store sells it doesn't make them a dealer.

Hows about the CLUB!!!

A friend of mine once had the club and thought he was good to go. Then one morning he woke up and his car was gone. Wanna know how?

They sawed through the steering wheel and bent it so they could remove the club!

Even a detachable wheel with hub lock isn't safe, another buddy had his stolen with the hub lock on, someone had used self drilling screws and just screwed on a cheapo steering wheel.

I've never had an issue buying online, but this is true.

Also, instead of paying bestbuy $2-300 to put it under the dash where any thief can find it, why not take 6 hours and do it yourself? The longest i've ever had one take was 10 hours, that was removing the entire interior (dash too), front end, and a few other odds and ends, and reassembly.

I've installed over a dozen alarms for me and various friends, i hide the brain in a different location each time (once under the driver seat, once above the glove box, once i extended the wires, removed the rear quarter plastics and hid it back there) I always get my power from somewhere different each time, sometimes i've done battery backups (this was in a lifted ford where the negative battery cable bolted to the frame and was easily accessible)

And i can promise you, that every install came out 100 times better then any bestbuy install, and i can say that because i've had a few, there connections were butt crimped and electrical taped, brain shoved up under the dash and zip tied. Power gotten from the battery with no hood pin in place. Just absolutely horrible.
