I keep on hearing that the bolt-on garrets/pte turbo have some big restriction due to their mitsu style ex-housing. I was wondering if welding a T3 flange on my turbo manifold would be a bad idea? Would it at least less restrictive than a mitsu bolt-on housing. The cheapest T3 manifold I found was like $475. Thanks

Adriano

you can but you would have to thred the flange for the bolts. and get the right size bolt.
and make the outlet mach up with the flange

I believe AGP Turbo still sells an adaptor-flange for mounting a T3 Turbine housing to a Mitsu Manifold, and dont' forget (actually you should :p ) SSAutocrap.

Would be nice if SBR could cast an affordable Mitsu/T3 mainfold in the future since they've done just about everything else :dsm:

adriano, why dont you just build another mani and weld the flange on the end? Would cost less than an aftermarket mani and probably flow better than the stocker  I thought you made a mani before? what happened

I believe the SBR T3 cast manifold is in the works.... atleast that is what I have been told. It would be a HUGE seller hands down...

Remember that the mitsu housing is not as good as a T3 BUT there are COUNTLESS guys on here that have gone VERY fast with it. I stuck with the mitsu housing simply because I do not want people thinking my car is as modded as it is when they look under the hood. :thumb:
