Welding T3 flange to turbo manifold..

I keep on hearing that the bolt-on garrets/pte turbo have some big restriction due to their mitsu style ex-housing. I was wondering if welding a T3 flange on my turbo manifold would be a bad idea? Would it at least less restrictive than a mitsu bolt-on housing. The cheapest T3 manifold I found was like $475. Thanks

you can but you would have to thred the flange for the bolts. and get the right size bolt.
and make the outlet mach up with the flange

I believe AGP Turbo still sells an adaptor-flange for mounting a T3 Turbine housing to a Mitsu Manifold, and dont' forget (actually you should ) SSAutocrap.

Would be nice if SBR could cast an affordable Mitsu/T3 mainfold in the future since they've done just about everything else

adriano, why dont you just build another mani and weld the flange on the end? Would cost less than an aftermarket mani and probably flow better than the stocker I thought you made a mani before? what happened

I believe the SBR T3 cast manifold is in the works.... atleast that is what I have been told. It would be a HUGE seller hands down...

Remember that the mitsu housing is not as good as a T3 BUT there are COUNTLESS guys on here that have gone VERY fast with it. I stuck with the mitsu housing simply because I do not want people thinking my car is as modded as it is when they look under the hood.
