welcom to my nightmare

so this morning I go to hop into my GSX to head to an appointment to get the windshield replaced so that I can get my car inspected. I open the door to get in the car and the car alarm that was installed in the car when I bought it started going off. the alarm has never worked for me and I don't know how the alarm got turned on since the remote for it doesn't work.

I pop the hood and disconnect the battery and reconnect it thinking that maybe it would reset itself... no such luck. I start taking apart the interior of the car to find the brain for the alarm figuring I will just unplug it and go on my way. I find the brain and it turns out its a Clifford solaris g4 system so there is a started kill. at this point the entire dash is apart so I start looking more under the dash and start checking out this "wiring" HACK job. now I have to try and make sense of this mess and try to figure out what needs to be torn out and what needs to be reconnected to the factory harness.

keep in mind this is just the wiring that is under the steering wheel.

I had the exact same problem with one of my integras. Good luck, i ripped out everything that didnt look factory. Luckily I didnt mess anything up.

same here previous owner screwed up all the wiring under the dash. i ripped all that crap out and wired it back correctly

Yea... i have a remote starter/viper alarm in my car. All i can say is, im glad a shop installed it, and im glad the shop will deal with it if i ever want it removed.

There is SO MUCH going on under my dash because of them, and i however am in NO RUSH to touch any of it.

i also have a cliffard alarm system in my 96 and have had several issues with it all do to a bad auxillery battery mounted above the glove box

I just pulled the fuses from my alarm system until I quit being to lazy to get out the and do it.
It is wired in there good.

I wish I had that option. unfortunately my car will not run until I can find where/how he wired in the starter kill so that I can re connect the factory harness

Hopefully this helps. The starter wire is a black wire with a red strip in the harness that plugs into the ignition switch.

I would have soldering iron and some nice heat shrink to fix that the proper way.

Yeh that's why we didn't do that feature on mine... I didn't want to take the everything apart........ again

some times if you turn the key to the start position, and then hook the battery back up, it stops going off. This has worked for me on lots of cars.

same thing happened to me put the key in and everything and the damn thing wouldnt turn off. finally i put the key in the door and unlocked it and then it turned off

my car does the same thing, i have no remote at all... quite annoying i must say... i resolved it by unlocking the passenger door first

that won't work for this alarm system. the system has to be disarmed because there it an ignition kill and starter kill.

I'm going to be working on it today and tearing the alarm out and reconnecting all the factory harnessing. this could be interesting

Holy crap I totally feel your pain. I bought mine with a baddly wired alarm system and a push start system that didn't work yet was still wired in. Removed all of that from under the steering column and since the alarm was wired to the ignition to prevent starting, I found it wired to the ignition switch in the column. Dude did such a horrible wire job; no soldering, connectors, oor heat shrinky just wires twisted together, covered by parts of drinking straws and held on with zip ties. I swear some people shouldn't even touch a car. Hope all works out for you.
