I am posting this for a friend. He has a 95 talon tsi awd automatic he needs some help with the tranny. The problem is you can put it in any gear and won't go anywhere. It acts like its in park but the thing is you slide it to Nuetral and you cant even role the car back or forward I dont know?? He took it to a mechanic and he said it was the transfer case and something else.Other mechanics told him diffrent so just wondering what you guys had to say.Thank you

my cousin had the same problem with his 1g laser n/t automatic. it wouldnt move at all in any gear. the end result was a stock rebuild on his tranny. hope ur friend doesnt have to take this route.

It's rare, but I've seen the park mechanism break in these vehicles and lock them in park.

The valve body needs to come out to see it / fix it.

It could be something else, but this is probably the easiest thing to check.
