weird problem, too mcuh fuel?

i have a 92 tsi fwd and when i am driving the car it will sometimes die at an idle and then wont start but there is a lot of black smoke coming out of the exhaust. if it does start it will run like crap until 3k+ rpm. If i let it sit for about 10 min it will start up and drive just fine until it does it again. Anyone know what could be wrong?

is your bov vented or reciculated? besides that what is done to the car? we need to know whats done to get a general idea of whats wrong.

the bov is recirculated, it is a 6 bolt motor with wiseco 9.0-1 pistons, eagle rods, bc 272 cams, bc springs, ss valves, arp hardware, evo 3 16g, fmic, type rs bov. maybe some more mods i just cant think of them right now. my datalogger broke on me so i am waiting for the other one to arrive.
