I have a 1990 plymouth laser with 100k miles on it. It was sitting around for about a year so I changed a few things on it. I changed thermostat, radiator, spark plugs and all the fluids.
Well I have a problem. When I start the car it does fine, but it randomly jumps all the way to the hot side of the heating range. Ill immediately stop and feel the hose and it will feel cold. Ill do the same hting and the water gets slightly warmer as i drive around the block. Eventually I feel the hose and it feels about operating tempature. It is obvious to me that the thermostat is opening.
When I go to boost I get nothing but engine power. It doesnt boost at all... like the first time you try it will boost to about 3-4 pounds then at 4k rpms it just looses all boost.
I am guessing it is either not getting enough fuel and/or the ecu is going hay wire. I wont be able to get a data logger on the car for a couple of days and i need to sell the car asap (already have a buyer). I would appreciate any and all input.
