I am having some problems with knock after installing my 2g mas. I only get it at 2k rpm's and does not go away until the car is completly warmed up. It doesn't matter how much fuel I add or take away while its cold its always there sometimes its 42 couts but never lower than 20 but its always there and only at 2k rpm's. I didn't have this problem while running my hacked 1g mas. I need some idea's on where to start looking. I was thinking maybe a bad o2 sensor could be the problem because the problem only happens when everything is cold and once it warms up it goes away but its still there even when i go wot. If its the mas why is it only when the engine is cold? Any help is appreciated.

how did you go about wiring the car for use of the 2g mas. i was test-n-tuning different mafs and did not solder the connections and i got a lot of phantom knock at low rpms, i soldered the connections and it was fine.

i bought the wiring harness for it already made so i do not know if it was soldered but why would i only get knock when the engine was cold if it were the connections on the mas? Was your knock all the time? I was wondering if maybe the intake air temp wire was mixed up on the harness. It just doesn't make sense to me that i get so much knock when the engine is cold and without touching anything on the safc it goes away when the engine warms up.

no mine would do it all the time but it would do it alot more when it was cold. did this just happen all of a sudden when you swapped mafs? also are the honeycombs in the maf still in tact, ive seen goofy phanton knock when the outer honeycombs were removed. otherwise check your knock sensor, see if its busting out the ooze.

All the honeycombs are still in i have not checked the knock sensor yet. It seems like it started somewhere between the 2g mas install and my weapon r leaking gas through the vaccum nipple. I have since installed an aeromotive afpr.

alright here is something i noticed this morning on the way to work. If i drive at 20% or less TPS i get 0 knock but as soon as i go over 20% tps here comes the knock between 2k-3k rpm's. I have tried to set my throttle points on the safc higher and lower than 20 but i still can't get rid of it until the engine is completly warm.
