Weird issues after replacing alternator

Ok Im lost now.. the I replaced the alternator today and I was driving along and the car just lost power, then it had a rush of power and just shot off like i was flooring it. then lost power again... Its up and down either has no power or is pinning you to the seat.. Please help i do not know what its doing...

Power on its own? Or variation when you floor it? Electrical power? Engine power?

At half throttle its running like at wot. but only sometimes other times it doesn't move at all. Its acting like when you dont have the maf plugged in but not all the time i just went and drove it and it was driving normal or normal for how its been driving. I put my wife's maf and went around the block and it drove the same way "normal" so i dont know if i should drive it more to see what happens to it.
