Ok so it's been about a week now since it last had rained around here if I remember correctly. I noticed these dirt spots on my car which bugged me but I couldn't wash because I've been busy. I go out today and start washing my car and these spots do not seem to come off with your standard soap and water wash. So I came outside with some wax and after a lot of rubbing they were starting to come off in some areas. I did the rear and left it at the for today to see what you guys thought it could be and maybe some insight if you have had this problem or know any solution. Heres a pic of my hood which I have not started to do yet and this stuff is almost all over my car:cry:

Were you parked under a tree when it was raining? It might be sap from the tree, or it could affects of acid rain. That looks like some nasty stuff. Good luck on gettin that off.

Go to Autozone and look for "Bug and tar remover". That should take care of it.

Wasn't exactly parked under a tree but a big one was nearby so thats what I was thinking. Thanks turbosax2 I'll pick some up tomorrow and update in this thread.

Go to your Autozone or whatever and pick up a clay bar and some detailing spray (can also use soapy water if you're cheap). It's probably from hard water/acid rain and embedded contaminants in the paint. The clay should lift it right off.
