I have had the Apexi N1 cat back and downpipe for almost three years now. It has always had a nice low smooth sound to it.

Yesterday out of nowhere my exhausted started to sound different. It got a little lower but now with a bubbly noise to it. What would make this do this? Is it a sign that something else is wrong? Maybe a leak somewhere?

Well sometimes when a CAT goes bad you'll start hearing a bubbling or popping noise. If you wind it out to wide open throttle and you hear the popping again I would suggest a bad cat. Jack the car up and shake the exhaust near the cat, if you hear rattling you have lost a chunk of your honeycomb converter. Are you running rich?

I have the same exhaust minus the downpipe and it's been doing the same thing ever since I put it on. It's the compression. Granted I'm talking about when you down shift which is when I assume it does it. If not then I don't know. All cars do it but you can hear it better with the exhaust.

His downpipe probably got rid of the cat.
