General Weird consistent knock when idling in hot

I notice on my S-AFC2, the knock reading when my engine has warmed up and idling is high., around 18, sometimes around 23.

Could it be the wrong use of spark plugs? I suspect that might be the cause as I just changed them recently.

The gap is 1.1mm. Could the wrong gap give strange knocking when idling?

The knock display on the safc2 isnt accurate. You need a logger to see how much knock you are getting.

I don't have a proper logger but from what I can tell from my own feelings, the engine timing is pulling real hard when engaging from first gear....as if the engine has no power to push the car.

I took that as a sign of the ECU detecting too much knock and retarding the timing too much?

You can totally ignore the knock reading from the SAFC2.
It is sooo far off it isn't funny!
I have tested this by comparing it to the readings on my logger.
