weird clutch problem on my 1g n/t

Recently i went to get in my car to drive it and i could not get it in gear. Well its weird because its not loosing clutch fluid and the clutch pedal is still hard. So i thought that possibly something was going on with the throw out bearing or something like that. Well i pulled the trans and everything looked fine. I do remember a few days prior to that i was having a hard time getting it into gear so i bled the clutch and it was fine. Could a slave or master be going bad but not losing clutch fuild? What do you guys think. And this time i tried bleeding it numerous times and nothing made it better

When you say the clutch pedal is still "hard" is it stiffer than normal or has it remained consistent? While the trans was off did you pull the pressure plate and look for any signs of fatigue or excess wear? were all the parts in good working order when you had it apart?

Could also be shifter cables, or worn bushings on the ends of the cables, but that should not effect as much as you are describing.

I had a similar issue with the 2g AWD where the clutch felt funny for a couple days then one day the pedal got real stiff and I heard something snap and the clutch wouldn't disengage. Turned out I broke an ear off the TOB.

no it keeps consistent pressure and what was funny before i went to pull the trans if you pressed in the clutch almost stalled the car and there was a like knocking sound even when the car was in neutral. im going to role out the shift cables because if i push the shifter hard enough it will grind so i know its trying to place in the gears correctly

if the master or slave were bad you would be losing fluid, is it possible you just have some air in the line?

Air in the lines ? Lol i mean anythings possible but i bled that thing no lie atleast 30 times not even exaggerating.. Another thing i did notice, when it was in working condition, whenver i pressed the clutch in it felt like it was hitting a wall like an inch from the floor.. And if i pressed it real hard it would go down more

I am stumped, I would pull the pressure plate off and see if you got something funny going on there.

first i would like to know if any gear works like 2-5 if no then it likely isn't your tranny/syncs. ok and a master can be bad and not leak i have seen it several times now what you need to do is recruit a friend and have him go under the car and watch the slave to see if the rod moves when you push in the clutch. if it moves the problem is in the pressure plate/ throw out bearing, if it doesn't move then the problem is in the master/slave. now if it is the PP or throw out bearing a clutch kit is neccessary. if it is the master or slave take the slave out and push the rod in and out to see if it moves freely. moves freely means the master is blowing by the internal seals and needs to be changed. if it doesn't move freely disassemble the slave and some 1000 grit or better sand paper/emery cloth can be used to clean the bore and piston.
