so I have a 1997 eagle talon esi non turbo with manual trans car is bone stock with 144xxx miles to describe a little bit about what is going on I have had the car for a week and everything has worked flawlessly smooth shift no slippage of the clutch easy starting so on and so forth no issues at all last I was driving home I pushed my clutch pedal in to get on the off ramp aging no issues I coasted in neutral to the top of the ramp went to put my car in gear and the clutch pedal had no pressure at all I got out and made sure I could not see any visible fluid leaks which at a glance I could not find any and everything looked to be functioning properly but the resivore was dry so i bump started my car to drive it home and as it took off I got all of my clutch pressure back and I could shift into each gear smoothly however it felt as if my clutch was slipping basically I could use the clutch go into gear and release my clutch but I would go nowhere im so confused I have a pretty decent mechanical knowledge any ideas one what it could be

If the reservoir was dry then you have a leak somewhere. The clutch hydraulic system is a very simple one.

Either it's leaking from the Reservoir, the Clutch Master Cylinder, the hydraulic line, or the slave cylinder.

Fill the Reservoir back up and have a buddy push in the clutch a bunch of times while you watch for leaks. It should be very obvious where the fluid is going.

so I tried bleeding it and got strait fluid after the bleeding process however I have a different issue after bleeding I have the right amount of pressure in the clutch pedal but it feels like my clutch is now slipping I rpm up and barley go any where or I can put it in 1st let my clutch out I will roll forward and then just stop and I give it throttle and it slowly starts to move forward so could it be my clutch slipping or the slave cylinder ???? or both or any suggestions im going to load it up and take it to work hopefully I can get it figured out its a bit chilly to be working out in the snow haha and suggestions would be super helpful thanks guys

Sounds like you have your clutch severely over-adjusted or you have air in the master or slave cylinder causing pedal pump up. Back out the master cylinder adjustment rod at least 4 full revolutions, pump the pedal several times slowly, check reservoir fluid volume, bleed again if necessary, and see where your pedal engagement is at. Otherwise you could be dealing with one or multiple other problems like a clutch failure, input shaft failure, clutch hydraulic internal failure, adjustment issue, etc.

If you think it's slipping it might be eventually you ll get to the point where you can shift into any gear but car won't move. Put it in second gear go about 25-30 mph shift into 5 the gear and mash the gas the car should bog down if the rpms shoot up the clutch is toast. There is no clutch adjustment on a hydraulic clutch you can adjust pedal height but only minimally to remove pedal play

Yes, there is clutch adjustment on a hydraulic clutch...

sorry for taking so long to reply been out with surgery so I out a new clutch master in car as I found a bunch of fluid on the rod that comes through the firewall I watched the video posted above that makes a lot more since on how it works and to check for my adjustments to make sure the will work however after putting the new clutch master in my car I am still stuck with the same issue I think im am going to try a new slave cylinder next as if one goes the other seems to follow shortly I do have a question though if any body if familiar with the slave cylinder it says that it is automatic adjusting my question is can the only auto adjust out or do they adjust in as well because my thought is that if when I had the issues with my clutch master if it tried to adjust itself out and now cant go back in which could cause the issue that im having if any body has any links they can post or any ideas that would be awesome im hoping to be able to get my car up and running in the next week as is kills to drive the 1ton 80miles round trip to work every day thanks guys
