Hey everyone,
I haven't been driving my car recently for the past week due to some ignition problems occuring above 4000+ RPM. When I went to go move the car form the driveway into the garage the car's battery had died. I jumped started it and it worked fine. The last time I drove my car for over 10 minutes was last weekend. I did drive it once around the block on wednesday when I changed the spark plugs & wires but not more then a minute or two.
When I was away at college my sister told me the battery would also die if she the car wasn't driven for 3 - 4 days.
Normally I would figure it was an outdated/corroded battery but since the problem has been discovered, I have swapped four NEW batteries (costco swaps 'em for free if you're not satisfied with your purchase of their battery).
The cars armed with a viper security system w/ a bright blue blinking LED which might have some effect on the battery life (i'm not too savy w/ electrical things). The car also has an EGT gauge & boost gauge hooked up to the headlights. I think I read somewhere on this forum that the EGT always stays on even w/ the ignition off (maybe this could cause a weaker battery life?) Worse can scenario is that some other larger component is staying on and sucking the batterly life.
So bascially I'm wondering if this sort of battery life is normal or if something else is causing this issue. My profile's updated w/ all the mods but the rest are pretty much motor/non-electrical related.
Last thing: if the car is driven everyday and keeps on getting recharged, then its fine.
Thanks ahead of time!
