Today i test drove a 99 Gs-t. And it's pretty nice. Anyways, I took it out for a spin and as i reach 3000 rpm were the turbo is suppse to kick in it just push a lot of air and the turbo wasn't doing it's job. Wat's wrong with the car. Turbo not correctly installed wat should i do??? Any advice wat to do

I've driven a 2nd gen gst with a 3" catback and intake. As soon as the turbo started to spool, It was a very loud spool sound(Alot of air rushing through it) But there were no leaks or anything. Either way, It wasent really fast to me, It felt like a normal car with just the sound of a turbo and alittle kick to it when boost hit. Nothing impressive. The stock t25 is a baby though so maybe that is the problem.
Other then being stock, Check for boost leaks?

But it wouldn't let me pass 3000 rpm is it suppose to do that. When it gets to 3000 rpms it just shakes and doesn't go pass it. I doubt the car can't go pass 3000 rpm. :dsm:

No you should be able to go just past 7000 RPM then the rev limiter kicks in. So something is wrong with the car. Sounds like the timing belt might be off by a tooth.

Rev limiter is when the ecu prevents the engine from reving any further. I believe it is around 7200rpm's on turbo models. To get rid of it, you have to do something to the ecu, do a search, I've seen pictures of it being done before on here.

what ur explaining is exactly what happen to my car when one of my intercooler pipes blew off from the ic. It would barely boost and then when i would rev higher it would just stop even though i had it floored. Its really weird, but ya its ic piping.

this may be a stupid question but whats a rev limiter and how would i get rid of it.

If u dont know what it is maybe u shouldnt be so keen on taking it out. The rev limited is obviously there for a reason and taking it out wouldnt do anything for performance because u shouldnt be revving that high anyways on a 2g, its way over the power band the t-25 drops off way before that.

Its there for ur safety, say u missshift when ur racing and ur in neutral and u have it floored, ur rpms are gonna shoot straight up passed redline and the one thing to save ur ass u took out because u dont like feeling constricted =\
