Well im leaking coolant and seems to me like its coming from the bottom of the waterpump. Everytime I start my car the belt will squeek due to the drips. The head has been replaced and not sure if they may have done the waterpump at the same time and maybe its just a seal leaking. Well all this said how hard are they to replace? Whats a good amount of time that it would take. I have worked on many hondas and done countless things and now that I changed worlds need some input before I get started. Thanks

If I remember right you'll have to remove the drivers side motor mount to get to it. I remember the pully being a PITA to get off because of how close it is to the inner fender well. After those are out of the way it's pretty straight forward. I used a bit of silicone with the gasket to seal it up.

thanks any helpful tips would be good and help. While im doing it ill prob replace the timing belt while im at it to be on the safe side. Also what about the tensioners? Heard a rumor that they cause problems?

The tensioners should be replaced when the t-belt is done. I believe they have the same service limit as the belt so it would be a good idea to replace them. At the very least the hydrolic tensioner should be replaced and don't forget about the balance shaft belt and tensioner. If that lets go it'll take the t-belt and the head with it.

whats a good place to get all these parts cant they all be picked up at the parts store? What kind of money am I looking at to replace all these?

I know Slowboy sells a whole Mitsu kit for $220 plus $60 for the balance shaft belt and tensioner. I've seen kits on Ebay too but don't remember if they were OEM Mitsu parts. Diamondstarmotorsport sells a whole kit for $300 and I'm sure a few of the site vendors have kits as well. Shop around for the best prices. I'm not sure if Autozone or local parts stores sell complete kits but you can always ask.

I have been reserching and reading on this. How much of a pain is it to change the belt and waterpump from peoples past experience? What are things to look for and what not and how long should I plan on it taking me? Also iv been looking around. What the best way to go. What absolutly should be replaced when doing this? Good kits?

timing belt swaps are kind of technical but if you have a manual, a friend, and some mechanical savvy you can do it yourself. The tough part is lining up all of the marks alone. so bring a friend. torqing everything and making sure you put the right bolts in the right holes is the reason for the manual. my first one took me a day..11 hours. now it is a 5 hour job, start to finish. i recommend having a premium 1/4 drive 6 point metric socket set. small tools are easier to work with inside the fenders.

i have tools and all. I worked on many hondas just new to the whole dsm and hear bad stories about the timing belts and unsure if i want to tackle this project and if i do need some tips and input and what must be replaced and what not
