Water pump 8 months old - leaking already:S

Can anyone explain this? Should I be pissed off at the mech that installed it?

I had this happen to me. 1 week after I had mine replaced it started leaking. I took it back and it ended up leaking because the mechanic used the wrong type/size of O-ring on it. How bad is yours leaking? and where from?

I was told its leaking near the gasket - Shit I don't know enough or have the time to fix my own car.



Its not bad either..Sometimes a little puddle (20ml maybe) sometimes nothing.

I don't know if I can handle all these repairs anymore

You asked if you should be mad at the mechanic. Since someone else did the install, you should have it under warrenty. If not, shame on you for letting them touch your car.

Im honestly under the impression that ALL water pumps suck. but yes, be mad at him and refuse to pay for anything that he needs to fix due to his own mistake.

Yes there is, a new waterpump installed by him is failing to operate correctly. That's all he should need to know. He should have you take the car in so he can look at it, and fix the problem if warrented. If not, never go back there, and send as much of his business you can else where.

He should fix it though, I don't see how he would be in business if he doesn't.
