Water injection question?

I just purchased a water injection kit.I found out you have to install the pump below the tank.I was planning on using my stock windshield washer tank,but its mounted uner the spare tire.Has anyone tapped into the stock reservoir and how did you do it.Thanks

Are you wanting to use the washer tank for the pump and tank if so just unhook the hoses from the squiters. That would be the easier way and just remove the wash tank and drain all the fluid out of it. It's easy too do.

So what your saying is I would not beable to use the squirters anymore.I can just relocate the washer tank to a different spot.Is that what you mean?If so I could probably do that only I would still like the squirters to work.Maybe ill just go buy a tank somewhere.

Will the pump work if I mount it level with the tank.In the instructions they send with the kit,they show the pump underneath the tank.Who has used the stock reservoir and how did you do it,or did you just not mount the pump lower than it.

I have my pump mounted next to the reservoir under the spare. I have never had a problem with it losing prime.

On a 1G the rear squirter has a separate tank mounted behind the back panel. I drilled a hole in the top of the tank & pushed a rubber hose in there. I didn't lose my rear washer ability this way. The pump is mounted right next to the tank. It seems to pull fluid just fine.

I just finished the install and I can tell a difference for sure.the only thing is on higher boost like above 20psi it seems to cut out a little bit,anybody have an idea why it would do that.

I dont know if you figured out your problem or not yet, but after searching this morning for water injection and stuff I saw someone had the same problem as you. The recommended fix was to lean it out allittle up top...they said because the injection cooled the air and did what it does it was causing him to run rich up top. ...What kit did you get ? Im looking to buy one.
