Is 38mm TIAL wastegate enough for GT30R turbo?
This is full garrett setup.
Wastegate is mounted in manifold colector.
It cant control boost, maybe is too small?
Wastegate came with 10psi spring, and holds 10 psi until 5500 rpm in third year. then boost starts to climb to 20psi!!! I dont know whats going on
Please i need some advice here

Generally, a 38mm will flow enough for a gt30r. A lot that I have seen will creep if you are trying to run less than 15psi. Try bumping up the boost some and see if the creeping issue is resolved.

at 15psi is the same thing, boost creep to 20 psi.
Maybe i need a bigger wastegate?
In case yes, which one? 40mm?
my goal is 10s and 30psi boost
thanks for advice

What is your exhaust setup like? Is it enough to handle GT30 flow?

If so, perhaps a stronger spring is in need... give tial or road race a call.

Good thinking but generally, too weak of a spring creates boost fall of from the wg blowing open under high rpm/high exhaust flow from the head. This is totally opposite of his problem.

I am beginning to think that your wg placement on the manifold might be the problem. Do you have any pics? Just like an internal gate, try porting and radiusing the inside of the manifold around the wg port. You can spend the $ on a 40mm wg but it might not help so might as well do the cheaper mods first.

A small wastegate is fine on the gt30r when running high boost, but may not be able to flow enough to handle real low boost like your trying to run. Once you turn up the boost like you intend to do you'll be fine. I'm running the 38mm tial with my gt30r and am having no issues with it at all, however I always run fairly high boost(24psi to 30 psi).

Today i turn up boost to 23psi.
No more creep. :thumb:
Car holds 23psi all the way to 8K.
You people were rigth. GT30R likes lot of boost.
Injectors duty cycle was at 90%
Im thinkin to order 850 set to put 30psi on it!!
Sunday i will go to track, i hope to enter on elevens territory.

Thanks again

Cool, now your getting in the efficiency range for your turbo. You might want to consider water/alc injection. Using it I'm now running 28psi on pump with no knock. I've even logger 54 lbs of airflow when it was 80 degrees outside here in hot muggy virginia. Keep us posted with how the tuning goes.

Exactly. This is the same concept as the upgraded flapper mod on the Evo III's. Force = pressure x area. Doesn't take a scientist to tell you that more area in this situation will = more force (blowing the wastegate open).
