wastegate on 02 housing?

Im looking at turbos, and whats it mean when they ask if you want an 02 housing external wastegate? I understand the other two options which are for an internal wastegate, or an externaly manifold mounted wastegate. But with the 02 housing option, does that mean you mount the wastegate on the 02 housing? That would be nice because i have an aftermarket header that doesnt have a wastegate on it(because i have a stock turbo), but when i upgrade the turbo i will want an external wastegate which will mean i will have to get rid of my header and get one with a wastegate mounting spot on it. Unless of course i cant mount the wastegate on the 02 housing??????? Honestly, ive never really read anything about that, so i feel like a real dumbass asking it because its probably not true, but IF it is or isnt please let me know. Thanks!

Yes you can mount the wastegate on the o2 housing, some people prefer this because the wastegate is close to the same position that a internal gate flapper would be. Some even say that it works better. Makes custom fabrication a bit easier if you want your dump to go back into your down pipe. That is where we are mounting ours. Hope that helps
