Ok, so last week while driving on the highway I noticed the temps starting to rise. I checked it out and my coolant was boiling from the over flow tank. I got towed the next day and ran a leak down test and the head gasket was blown. The oil was all milky. We replaced the gasket and flushed the oil twice so far but it still comes out milky and it smells like its burning coolant. We should of had the head checked but didnt. Is it likely that the head is warped?

Really it should just matter on how long you ran the motor after you had over heated the engine. There's no real way to tell whether or not your head is warped unless you get it tested.

likely? probably.

I used a felpro gasket with a little bit of copper spray on it. I'm gonna have my dad take a look at it later today. It will probly have to come off again:cry:

Blinky... If he did... I do not think he would have said this...

looks like you will have to pull it again...

read this before you take it to the machine shop ....

depending how hot the engine ran... you may want to have this done to your head...

even using a composite gasket.. it should look about like this....

also you may want to do this oil port mod...

thanks for the help. I am looking at the links right now.

When I call the machine shop, How should I ask how they resurface the head? What the right way?

thant you want it done on a Hi speed mill.. or if a composite is going to be used a wet segment stone grindr will do

anything but a belt surfacer!

I just called the machine shop. They use a stone grinder so that seems ok. He really seemed like he knew what he was talking about.

But, do you think my bearings are still ok with running with oil like that? I didnt run it long and only 10 min with fresh oil yesterday after replacing the head gasket.

change the oil and filter again

and a stone surfacer should be good for a composite gasket

I will deff change the oil twice but im just wondering if the bearings would get damaged from driving a couple min with the milky oil?

they should be ok.. but now way to really tell unless you drive it.. or drop the oil pan and look
