I pulled the car apart today and noticed some strange markings on the flywheel and pressure plate. Flywheel was resurfaced when I last installed it. Clutch was bought used. Didn't notice any issues with the car. Any ideas what this could mean? Thanks for your help.

That's strange as I've never abused the car in the 1500 miles I've been driving. Maybe it happened on a tuning session? Do you suggest I replace anything or run it as is? Thanks.

Yeah, or the disk hub got damaged on install if the transmission was hanging its weight on it.

One thing i can say is I had a HELL of a time getting the trans on myself on the install last year so that's the likely cause. I took a look at the organic disk and I couldn't find anything wrong with. Could have been brand new for all I know. I'm thinking it may be ok to just run it as is. Tim, I may upgrade to the HTA76 (3076) at Christmas. What clutch would you recommend for street use? I see my ss-o is rated for 425 ft/lbs.

Post pics of both sides of disk.

You can run it for now or you can step it up to a higher capacity friction material like the B series full ceramic disk, or go to an SSX pressure plate and TZ/B dual friction kevlar/ceramic disk. I would have the flywheel flatness checked just in case.

I can't tell if the pressure plate is nuked or glazed, but it looks like it was overheated.

When I put the trans in I use a cherry picker I got an eyebolt that threads into the top of the trans case and I pick it up into position and bolted on. It really sucks but you can do the same thing with a two-by-four in a ratchet strap across the shop Towers. Some guys can go full beast mode and just pick it up and put it in but but I'm not big enough for that so I use a cherry picker

It looks more glazed than anything. check the pressure plate for flatness as it looks like there is a high spot. or grab a sanding block and some 80 grit and find out.

I shall do that. Thanks. It doesn't seem like you can disks or PPs individually which is strange.
They typically only sell kits, not individual parts, but I have a new SSX pressure plate on the shelf and I regularly sell disks individually.
