Wally 255: how long does it take to prime your car?

I noticed it takes about 40 secs for me to prime the the motor with my walboro 255.
Anything less and the car stutters and dies. Doesnt this seem a bit excessive to you? Maybe it's time to change the filter in the earls inline filter i have.
 
Mine starts right up in the morning within a couple cranks. If you have a 255 you should have a AFPR. What kind of fuel pressure do you have when you shut the car off? Does it bleed off right away or does it hold for a while? Also have someone check your fuel pressure during cranking as well.
