walbro install kit question

I'm going to buy a Walbro 190 lph fuel pump. I'm just trying to figure out if the install kits are all the same.

Forced Performance sells the pump for $99 + $20 for the install kit + ~$15 for shipping for a total of ~$135. Here is the blurb about the install kit:

"The Walbro installation kit includes replacement and wear items associated with the fuel pump. The kit includes new a new fuel sock, isolator bushing, o-rings, etc. The 1G kit includes the wiring harness necessary to complete the installation."

Extreme PSI has them for $95 shipped with install kit. I called them and asked them about the install kit. They said it was just the standard install kit provided by Walbro for the 2G DSM.

I called Forced Performance, and and wasn't able to get a whole lot of info about their install kit other than it was "everything you needed".

So is Forced Performance selling the exact same off the shelf item for $40 more than Extreme PSI, or is Forced Performance's install kit somehow more complete?

As far as I know most of the vendors sell the same install kit, like you said from walbro. The price you quotedfrom fp seems pretty high to me, I don't think that fp is adding anything extra as the kits from walbro have everything you need. Go with extreme $95 is a good deal, they usually range between that and $105 anymore then that and your paying too much.

what you are getting for the extra $20.00 is the wiring that go's from the the battery to the fuel pump it is a upgrade kit

You sure about that? It says nothing about a rewire kit included with the "install kit". They sell their pumps and install kit separately, and after looking at the picture of the install kit it seems to be the same as any other one.

I recommend buying the pump from extremepsi.com. I just bought a walbro 190 from them a couple weeks ago for like $95 shipped (free shipping too!) and it arrived within 3 days. It comes with everything you'll need to install it, like the "install kit", but at no extra price

I wentwith Buschur racing a year ago for $95. I have a 1g and the istall kit cam wih a short wiring section and if I recall it allowed me to clip onto the pump and the stock wiring harness, no splicing.
If FP is charging $20.for tank to engine bay wire that is a bit expensive. www.vfaq.com has some great info on Walbro installs. Mark

I don't think that includes the rewire kit either. They list a rewire kit as a separate item for $42.75.
