Resolved Walbro 255?

I just bought a used walbro 255 hp and the pump it self is black, all the pics ive seen of it online its like a silver color did i get beat?

look for the code on the pump. if its a walbro 255 highpressure, it should have gss342 as the part number/serial number. the rest should have gss *** watever number . never seen any black ones but u may want to ask the previous owner if he painted it.

Every one I have seen or installed is silver. If it was "painted" over than you need to get all that crude off. The gasoline will eat most all paint products over a period of time. Nothing lie getting a chip of paint (no matter how small) jammed in your lines.

its not painted black its got a black covering on it. kinda like a thin layer or some kind of plastic or foam. did this jerk send me a stockpump?

They do come with a foam sleeve. Just remove the sleeve and look for the #s

FWD & AWD all use the same GSS341 so how did you determine you had one for an AWD? Mark
