Walbro 255 knock off? on ebay?

90-94 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE TURBO FWD 255LPH FUEL PUMP 255 | eBay

So I just found this and apparently it is compareable to the walbor 255 but quieter according to the post. I am wondering if anyone had gotten one of these and if it might be better to pay $25 more for a real walbro 255 for a 1g FWD? Or should I just get it because a fuel pump is just a fuel pump.

Well if you get one, try to get it for 54.99 as 2 others have. Post a review up as well. However, it my opinion, I would just spend the extra $20 and get a Wally. You can also spend a little over twice the amount and get an awesome Deatchwerks 300lph pump! I like it much better than the wally I had.

I just ordred a fp 255lph, it was like 60 and they hooked me up with free shipping, when i called them to ask about the pump since its a new product to my knowledge and there are maybe three reviews on it, (all good btw) and they told me it was made by the same makers as the wally. maybe you can go that way, at least FP is a trusted vendor, and they feel confident enough to put there name on it so we will see.

I wouldn't trust it. fuel pump is a very important thing never want to leave cheap out on something like that.

I agree, I have a FWD so my pump with the kit is a little bit more, $90. I'm thinking I will spend a little bit more in hopes that I don't have to replace it 2 moths later.

I definitely agree that the fuel pump really is not worth skimping out 25 bucks but hopefully you have no problems with it.

Aftermarket pumps are all loud, or "louder" than stock. Your never going to get around it. It's just one of those things you deal with when modding a car. I would not buy anything like this off ebay, and definitly wouldnt buy it because it was quieter, so they say. I'm sorry but your fuel system is to important. I would want to get somthing that is known to work. I wouldnt want to be in the middle of a pull, spinning to 9,000rpm and have a pump go out. It wouldnt be a good situation.

Even Walbro's have a reputation for dying quicker than they should. Though if you want to guinea pig the fuel pump that is your choice, people do tend to make it sound like you are detonating a nuclear missile if you put in a cheap fuel pump that may fail. Not really the case. Here is a good article to know when your fuel pump starts to go bad, great to know if you are going to try out a cheaper alternative, but everyone should know it.

The thing is, let's say it does go out, now even if you do replace it with another cheap one from eBay you still spent more than just buying the Walbro. In the end it may not safe you any money at all. I do wish there was more information on the FP one, it looks like a typical Made in China pump.
