I believe you'll want to pop the gas cap and then pull the electrical connector off the old fuel pump. Crank over the car a few times until it doesn't want to catch at all. This will relieve the pressure.

It's been awhile since I've done one, so if I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

You're right, that's how to relieve the pressure....or you'll take a nice fuel bath. Removing the cap only relieves the pressure in the tank. The line from the pump to the engine will hold pressure for a little while-that is relieved by running the engine with the pump off.

so what ur saying is to take the gas cap off, disconnect the fuel pump electrically. continue cranking the car till it doesnt nemore?... when installing injectors you would do the same thing to relieve pressure correct?...i appreciate all the help guys

You don't crank the car until it won't crank anymore .. that will kill your starter and drain your battery. You just crank it and if it starts just let it die out. Then crank it for 10 seconds or so and let it sit for a minute. Then crank for another 10 seconds and that's it. Same goes for injectors.

aight i gotcha. i plan on installing the 190 690cc injectors, safc, and igntion plugs and wires while my buddy is puttin on my nasty evo3 im been waiting on for so very long!...thnx for the help!
