W...T....F!!!!! kinda long sorry

ok i am going insane. after a long wait of about a week and a half payday finanlly came and i got my starter. went to put it in worked perfect but they gave me the wrong one. apparenly they didn't realize there was a diferance between the 4speed gsx and a 4 speed tsi awd when it comes to starters. well let me tell yas i found after a nice combination of screeching and crunching sounds that there is. anyway i got the correct one today and of course it won't work right. put it in get everything all tightened down and all i get is the click click click. ok take the dame thing out and put it on the battery charger and the spocket kicks out and spins as fast as it can on only 2 amps. so i ask what the hell is going on i tested the 2 wires in the car both are putting out a good 12.? volts i'm so lost a SO losing my patience with this damn thing

There should be no difference between TSI AWD AT and GSX AT starters.

there shouldn't be i agree i think that they should be the same but apparently when dsm was designing these cars they didn't care about sheer conveiniance and for all those that are still doubting me got to your local part store and check the item codes they won't be the same the only diference (i'm not sure if i said it or not is that the distance the gear has to trave before it is able to engage is longer in the tsi then in the gsx the question is is it again different for the laser as well?

You need to clean and inspect your battery terminals as well as all grounding wires.
