Haven't post for a while..but decided to knock out three birds with one post.
VSS sensor..
My VSS is bad, it's a guess, and after checking the cluster it all points at the speed sensor on top of the tranny.
Problem: I got a VSS from a 97 GST 5spd..I have a 96 GST auto...I know the two sensors are the same except the gear and shaft. Question: can I really just swap out the gear and shaft and just install it?
VSS problem #2: I've noticed there's a tranny/motor mout bracket on top of the sensor and won't let me reach or remove the 10mm bolt... Question: any easy way to remove the 17mm bolts with out taking off the manifold(which it seems like it's going that route)?
O2 sensor problem: I'm getting very very bad MPGs and the bad O2 sensor CEL code shows up every once in a while not always ..after deleting it doesn't comeback unless I'm gunning it. Question: I have a 97-99 GST o2 sensor ...are they the same? Can I plug and play?
Cracked manifold problem: my cast iron stock manifold it's cracked in three different places, two on top dead center and one big one on the bottom center. I can hear like a nice exhaust leak and ticking and rasping noise coming from the bay(annoying ). I've heard this could be dangerous if I continues driving like this, because it can lead a lot of carbon into the car while I'm driving. Question: I'm looking into buying a stainless steel manifold ... But could the cracked manifold cause a performance loss better yet bad MPgs if the O2 sensor is on the elbow side of the turbo and get bad readings from the air going through the manifold?
Thank you and sorry for the long post...
