im slightly new to dsms with my 92 talon tsi... its mostly stock at the moment with a sbr head air filter and mbc (17psi depending on weather) (stock turbo) i've been researching the possible upgrades and i was thinking if i can come across everything i might do this to it but i wanna know if there is a need for it? and out of curiousity, does anyone know what type of power i can expect?
550cc injectors off an rx7
3000gt vr4 fuel pump
mkIV supra sidemount intercooler
ic hard piping
2G mas airflow conversion
SAFC- im assuming this would be needed because the computer could not compensate for all the added air and fuel?

i would like to keep the 14b or purchase another one and get it ported .. at the moment i have a stock exhaust so a 2.5in turbo back with test pipe would also be installed... i know i hit fuel cut at around 18-19 psi as it stands and i would assume my stock injectors are being stretched to max... Also, would i need a FPR or would the stock one be able to handle this...i rather have more fuel just recirculating back to the tank then not enough. i figured this set up would be nice and relaxed so if i did ever want to run a 16g the fuel system could take it... i hope someone can give me some insight.. it would be greatly appreciated... :talon:

Your motor must hate you by now. That's too much airflow for a stock fuel system.

Your assumptions are correct!
 
The mods you have listed are pretty well thought out and should work well together for a strong daily driver. The only thing I would reconsider is the injectors as I believe the RX7 injectors are high impedance and a DSM uses low impedance injectors. I would also rewire the fuel pump, but I believe you should be able to get away with running the VR4 pump with the stock fpr. With a good tune on 20lbs you could probably get into the 275hp neighborhood.
 
thank you for the input... i need as much as i can get ... i was told 17 is a bit risky but i can pull a spark plud any day of the week and show that im not running excessively lean and the amount of carbon on my exhaust tips can vouch for that too... its not like i boost it everyday... i can actually drive my car economy friendly as i still get 23-25mpg everyday the boost is just turned up to that level incase i want to use it... as for the fuel injectors... i did the research and found out about just re wiring the ignitor panel on the firewall with the 4 black wires into the one white wire... ofcourse i will pull another out of a junkyard to save as many original parts as possible if i ever want to transfer back... would i truly need to rewire the fuel pump being as the original puts out 140lph and the vr4 produces 190lph under the same voltage?
 
Rewiring the fuel pump is always a good idea. The factory wires are very small and can cause as much as a 2volt drop, especially with 25 year old wiring that has been subjected to the elements, heat, etc.. Rewiring the pump is very easy to do and will cost less than $15 to do. It's cheap piece of mind.
 
yea im sure i could have a drop there... being as my car came from alaska in 92 with 62 miles on the odometer and found itself in virginia sometime after that and then in pa around 2004... its seen some pretty extreme climates that could have wrecked the wiring .. plus with 165k on it now... im sure something has a voltage drop
 
Just looking back at my previous threads tonight and came across this one. My its funny how things change over time and what parts I wound up building my car with. I can't wait to start all over with my new project once a deal is finalized. I'm finally going awd. no more jukyard parts theory to building the backyard 12 second drag car. This ones getting built right, and built right the 1st time.
