Hey guys, I have a built 420a eclipse 5 speed which is vibrating and I haven't done anything to the suspension yet. When I go on the highway my car starts to vibrate. Whenever I go somewhat fast it vibrates. I have newish tires. It feels like it is coming from the rear passenger side of the car. Could this be my tire scalping? Or could it be the suspension? The springs squeak like they are just getting old. The vibration gets worse when I turn left of course at a moderate speed. I can't figure it out. Can anyone help?

Could be multiple things. Put it up on some jackstands and shake down every wheel. Make sure you check for play in every direction. Typically vibrations I have felt in the front end have been from tie rod ends. You might be looking at something different.

If the tires are brand new and were improperly balanced (or not balanced at all) then you'll have an issue there as well.

So I finally got the car up on jacks and checked the tires and when i was doing this I noticed that there is like an arm or something that comes from higher up on the spring and reaches out to a piece close to the top of the tire that goes down to the hub and i guess they are bushings but they are rotted out and i think this is where my problem is. Does anyone know what this is? If it wasn't snowing I would take a picture of it. Also where could I get these? I took it to autozone and they told me it was like an upper ball joint but they couldn't help me. Neither could napa. Thanks for your help

.........the most-likely bushing to rip on a 2G seems to be that between the upper rear arm and the rear knuckle, especially when someone lowers the car and doesn't recenter the bushing.

Sounds familiar.

Burn/chisel/hack saw the oldie out and press in a new one.
Some dissasembly required.

Do both while you're at it, or better yet, a whole kit.
An alternative would be to go hit the junkyard.

MitsubishiGraveyard sells those bushings in pairs, you don't have to buy whole kits to get just those.
