Ive just replaced clutch with an ACT 2100, performance street disc, xact pro light flywheel, and throughout bearing. After install when i go to engage the clutch, it didnt want to engage untill the pedal was almost released. Causing hard engagement but is fully engaged, no slips. Since then i have tried to correct this by checking the hydralic system for air and leaks, none found. system has been bled numorious times. Ive done a fork check which is good. I'm stumped with the issue of what it could be. For now i have adjusted the pedal assebly so it is lower in travel but the same issue is there. Very little engagement. Anyone got anything??????:banghead:

You might need to adjust your clutch engagement point by adjusting the nut on the clutch master cylinder rod where it bolts to your clutch pedal.

adjust the master cyl... Look it up on youtube... Jack transmission has a good how to on adjusting the master..

Adjusting the master rod might help, if not then you might not have the right flywheel step height...

The flywheel should have been cut to .610. Aftermarket clutches are like this, and the correct step height in the flywheel is IMPERITIVE for flawless operation.

Also, here's a tip that most people never follow. I was told this from the parts guy at my Mitsu Dealer here.

Bleed the clutch system with the car LEVEL, not jacked up in the front. If you don't have a lift, or a mechanics pit, jack up the rear and put jack stands under it. Then jack up the front of the car, then continue with the bleeding process. The last time I bled my clutch, I did it this way and my clutch pedal felt much smoother and I actually got a little more engagement height. (I have an ACT2100 also).

Oh - and make sure to get ALL of the air out of the system. Don't just bleed it for 20 seconds and stop. Even after the air bubbles quit coming out of the slave, bleed it a few more time to make sure it's 100%.

Hope this helps.
