In skimming through this thread, it's obvious to this DSMer that the new guy needs to spend more time reading through the search utility than eBay.
The only reason I bought the intake manifold off ebay is because it is a replica of the venom manifold, only $400 cheaper. I had talked to a friend who works at a mechanic shop and he said a intake manifold would help out a lot.

Ok, I'll try and field this one again. Re-read dr1665 threads, GSGoinfast's first thread and my previous thread. You are putting the cart before the horse. I know that it may take some time but it is well spent and it will give you more confidence and understanding in your decisions. You bring up n/t products and then talk about turbo. These have different mod choices for different reasons. You need to search to understand. I have a pretty good engine background. I have built about 1500 engines over the years (no i'm not boastin' just tryin' to explain). I have raced both strip and off-road and I am familiar with squeezin' power out of little engines. When I first started playing with these toys (DSMs), I searched and watched the threads for about a month before I made any posts. Believe me the guys who are talkin' to ya want to help but you need to do the work of research before you can get the most out of their responses.

And GSGoinfast, I'll go with your link idea :thumb:

I believe that they are the same but (I know you said disregard the price) be sure of what price yoiu are paying on the E-bay exhaust. They give one price of $139.99 (the buy it now price) then you read down and they have another price of $114.95. Not sure what they would charge you. Also check out the shipping $99. I have seen RMS on there before but their positve feedback score is below what I would buy from. Yeah, I know more than my 2 sense. :D

Well, they have identical pictures, you decide.

Some things are good to purchase on ebay but then again some are not. I'd prefer not to get any exhaust items from EBay though. I'd recommend finding a good muffler shop in your town and have them make something for you with 2.5" piping, make some calls and get some pricing. Shouldn't be too expensive either.

I got a question about painting my stock rims. I thought my rims would look better painted black with the mitsubishi logo in the center painted blue. (for now until I get some money to buy some real rims) What kind of paint should I use? I got time to wait for the paint to dry and everything because my license is suspended for another 2 months.

I did mine awhile ago. I sanded down the stock color, then used acetone to clean it up. Then sprayed 3 layers of andable primer. Then I used 3 layers of duplicolor engine paint(withstands temps to 1600 degrees and has ceramic addative) and then topped it off with 3 layers of duplicolor truck clear coat.(I did it because I wanted a shiny wheel) Of course you mask off everything. And the wheels dry in a day, then cure in 3 or 4.

Yeah I used newspaper to cover the tires. I masked the parts I wanted to keep silver. Don't worry if you get black paint on the tires, it peels off after a mile or two.

The second one looks good. The flange that mates to the head looks thicker(thicker is good) I got mine from a ebay seller named ssautochrome. The flanges are extra thick, and about the same price as those. Had mine on for about a year and a half and absolutley love it. The only draw back is instead of a flange on the header to flex pipe connection it has a slip fitting(might leak) But I have a mig/tig welder at the house so I took care of it post haste. You shouldn't have to do any modifications to anything to make the header work. It is a direct bolt on. :thumb:
