I was looking at my engine and found this. the PCV was JB welded in there but now it is broke and just hanging in the hole, and there is another hole just sitting there chillin on the side LOL

What do I need to do here.
1. JB weld a new PCV in there and JB weld the hole closed

2. JB weld a new PCV and put a filter on the open hole

3. Weld on some A.N. fitting where the holes are and run a catch can to eleimnate the PCV

4.???????????????????

Can you tell me what kinda TB I have, it had 2 vacuum ports on the top of it, I though it was supposed to have 3?

My guess is that the previous owner stripped the VC overtightening the PCV valve. The PCV valve is something you have to change every now and then, so I'd figure something out there.

The other hole is for your VC breather line. There's supposed to be a nipple sticking out the side with a vaccuum line running to your intake manifold.

The 90 throttle bodies have only 2 vacuum ports. As for the fix, JB Weld the PCV and just throw a filter on the open hole. I've always just ran a cheap small inline fuel filter. Or better yet find a good used valvecover :D.

Is the 90 TB better, worse or the same as the later models.

I guess I need to fix it properly, or mod for a catch can and PVC elimnation.

The hole with nothing in it goes to the intake manifold?

In a nutshell yes the 90 TB is the same. 60mm, the thickness of it (manifold to tb elbow) is a little smaller than the 91-94. The hole with nothing in it is supposed to be routed back into the intake, right after the 1g mas which doesn't apply here since you have a GM MAF. No harm in leaving it open.

I think Mack meant intake pipe, not manifold. The PCV goes to the intake manifold.

You are wrong, it doesn't matter which MAS/MAF he is running, that is irrelevant to how the PCV system is supposed to work.

You need to get a replacement valve cover.

Agreed.

The search is on for a new cover......
