(vacuum?) lines. One was already split and looked to be leaking for a while. I can't seem to identify which ones they are in the tech manual. What are they and do you think they have been affecting the car?

That's what i figured it was, but i am trying to figure out what exactly those lines are. Look likes one may go to the tank and one to the throttle body. So if one of these is split, could be a vac leak when the solenoid is open?

Who has deleted their evap and how bad does the car stink? I would really like to clear that space to get some air to the driver side brakes.

I didn't necessarily get rid of mine. I just switch to the older charcoal canister setup to put under the battery tray. Those lines go back to 2 spots under the battery tray still. Since I technically didn't delete my setup I can't say if it'll cause a smell of gas fumes or not but people have deleted all that and made no claims so I am pretty sure you'll be fine but might throw a CEL if you delete it

The 98-99 cars have 2 sensors for EVAP or gas tank pressure. One is one the side of the intake manifold next to the coil, and one on the gas tank. Your car should already be throwing a p0455 code and would smell now. The charcoal canister there removes the smell from the fuel vapors before the engine burns them. So your tail pipe should Just stink of gas

It doesn't stink if you cap everything off. It will throw a code and your gas cap will be really hard to remove after a long drive at least that's what happened to my 98 gst
