Hey, I've been having and issue with the 95 eclipse recently, when the car is cold the engine will rev up every time i hit the clutch, or if im in neutral and just touch the gas at all it will rev up to around 2.5k and hang there for a few seconds before dropping back down. I changed out the intake gaskets because they were leaking, reset the computer and it ran perfect. Next day start it up and it did the reving thing again, I cleaned the map sensor and IAC and now ive got a really bad leak from somewhere with the same symptoms but worse now, (reving higher and hanging a little longer). I can now hear it sucking air around the throttle body area, I took the TB off and put a new gasket with blue rtv and it is sealed still leaking.

I have two questions how should I go about looking for the leak? I know the general area because I can hear it but cannot tell exactly where it is coming from, and also is it still alright to drive the car? I have an hour each way to school and back every day and cannot work on the car until this weekend but I do not want to cause other problems by continuing to drive it.

found the problem, my egr was loose on the intake side.
