vacumn question

I have a quick question.Just wondering what you vacumn reads at idle on your 2G cars. I only have 12psi at idle.I had a boost leak at the J pipe and i fixed that, but it still has the same vacumn.The car feels fine just curious i guess.

Vacuum is measured in in/Hg on most boost gauges.

Is there a kink or break in your boost gauge line? Also make sure your fittings are snug both under the hood and at the back of the gauge itself. I've got 20in/Hg at idle, and just shy of 30in/Hg on a decel in gear.

I will check that. wouldnt i here it hissing if it was not tight at the back of the guage.I will check for a kink in the nylon tube

If the hole is the right size, you will hear a very loud whistle. If its a small hole and is somewhere that the sound is muffled, you may not hear it. My first line hit the lightbulb in the footwell and melted the plastic line a bit. It was just enough for a pinhole leak and to restrict vacuum/pressure to the gauge. I was reading around 10in/Hg at idle with the bad line.
