Is it possible to have a vaccum leak and the car still boost normal? The reason I'm asking is because I just finished doing a couple of more upgrades on my car and one of the being a sheet metal intake manifold, could be leaking. The car was running fine before the install with good vaccum and after install I only get about -5 of vaccum, I went to buy the parts to do a vaccum leak tester but probably won't get a chance to do it until next week. So is it possible to boost normal when you have a vaccum leak, the car runs fine when rev, has about -20 of vaccum under deceleration boosts fine but has rough idle and only -5 of vaccum, any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mine still boost normal but because of the leaks Im missing a few osi. Gonna fix it this weekend. My personal experience on my car is yes I had a leak and still boosted normal so to say. Normal boost would be the stock boost is what Im reffering to.

If you have a leak under vacuum it usually leaks under boost too. Your turbo may be able to work extra hard to reach your boost setting and look normal but the car will typically be running rich due to the MAF measuring all the air and providing fuel for it, including the air that never reaches the cylinders.

Pressure testing the intake and fixing any leaks should be a normal part of DSM maintenance.
