I did the vac line elimination as described on taboospeedshop but it also shows bypassing the fuel pressure solonoid and going straight to the regulator. What do you guys think? Good idea or not. Also another member who did the EGR plate said he doesn't throw CEL but Ive been getting EGR flow malfunction code. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'd keep the fuel pressure solenoid as it is there to assist starting. I just reinstalled my EGR valve. It can improve mileage by 20% and help reduce partial throttle knock. When knocking starts from a hot spot during partial throttle operation it usually will not stop until I let off the throttle. Since I am paying $2.50 a gallon for fuel and rising I wanted all the mileage I could get. Doesn't hurt performance as it does not operate at WOT and I have seen no difference during part throttle operation either. Yes some soot gets into the intake manifold. THAT will not be an issue for most of us unless we keep our cars for 50,000miles! IMHO. Mark

I've been bypassing my FPS for almost two years now with no problems. It's supposed to help with warm starting, but even here in SoFla, I've had no issues. There's no real performance gain, but it does eliminate a couple of places that vacuum leaks could develop.

to prevent the CEL you need keep the solenoid plugged in, just not connected with hoses, about every 3 weeks or so I would get a CEL till I got DSMlink. As for the FPR solenoid, Taboo stated on DSMtalk several times that once you upgrade your fuel pump the solenoid does squat, so he said that you can bypass it and prevent a possible leak.

All the above & honestly if the Starter spins another time or 2 before Motor fires I consider that a GOOD thing in regards to more Oil Pressure at Motor Start.
