Well i have been able to use 104 unleaded for a while but the location for the gas is so unconvient, there is a 109 turbo blue leaded race gas station in my local town that i used once, and then read the warnings about leaded gas, is there REALLY a problem using leaded race gas? im wanting to get everyones views on it...

If you have a cat and a wideband O2, leaded gas will destroy them fairly quickly. If you don't have a cat or a wideband, at least replace the front O2 sensor with a Denso that will handle leaded gas with greater resistance. You can find these at:

Hope that helps, and please remember to update your mod list so that the rest of us can even determine if it's worth it for you to run race gas in the first place.

pte 50 trim, tial 38mm, AEM UEGO wideband, DSMLink, 3" ehxuast with o2 eliminator, walbro 255, aeromotive afpr, 680cc, FMIC, etc etc No cat

If you really need high octane, the leaded will eat up the wideband. I would recommend some Torco unleaded accelerator concentrate. It's not cheap, but I can vouch for the fact that it works wonders. You can find more info here:

Then again, this is all academic if you're not knocking at your current boost levels. Of course if you really want to yank on the timing and boost while not hurting the wideband, this is certainly the stuff to get it done.

Cheers,

Andy

I use 104 unleaded and its great stuff, its just a hell of a drive to get it...

If that's the case, it might not be a bad idea to use a drum in your garage and do a batch fillup with multiple cans. It's a pain, but it would keep you from making repeated trips. I wish we had 104 here. The next grade upwards of 93 is 110 and at close to $6.00/gallon it's too rich for my taste.

Wow it must really suck to live in the middle of a ginormous wheat field.:p I have at least 15 sunocos in a 25 mile radius of my house. And about 1 in 5 sells race gas.

You all that can even get 93 should be thankful. I just moved here in AZ from Chicago, where everyone sells 93. On the drive out here, as soon as I hit the OK border, bam, no more 93. 91 most places, only 90 is some!

Does VP or Sunoco sell their stuff online? That's probably a dumb suggestion, I doubt FedEx will transport gas... but you never know. LOL
