I've looked around for a while, but got no solid answers on how to go about this. I'm converting my car from a manual to an automatic in my FWD, but I will be using an AWD auto trans. I know about welding the center diff, but my question regards the mounts I need to use for the auto awd tranny. Do I need the awd mounts that bolt to the block and the AWD auto tranny mount or do I use the auto FWD mounts? Also, can I get away with using the FWD motor mount "bar" that runs under the engine, or do I have to use the AWD one?
Hoping someone has done this and can shed some light on the subject. I will deal with the output shaft for the transfer case... leaving an option for a possible AWD swap down the road if I get bored with the car.
Thanks in advance!
