okay my car is almost complete i just want to do a few more things to it in the comming weeks one being fixing my obvious boost leaks i have going on the main one comming from my blow off valve being vented (bought the car this way Blitz DD) so really i have 2 options here and one is to buy new intercooler pipes and a new bov (hks ssqs) or i can switch to a maft setup and keep my beloved blitz Bov. Currently im running the stock SMIC but plan on upgrading sometime soon so whatever i decide to do now i dont have to rebuy the parts again to fit this new intercooler. ( i relize i probably wont be able to go short route piping this way correct me if im wrong) so really how much more tuning does the MAFT give me over just a safcII alone. also where is a good place to get a UIP for the 3" GM MAFT setup AFTER THE BOV.

Well from what i hear in the forums tuning your car with both is a really good option, i was told to make all my adjustments with the gm maf and then fine tune the rest with the safcll. It also depends on how many mods you have, and also do you have a logger?

yes i have a logger and even have access to a wideband O2 for about a week all my mods are in profile its up to date as far as i know. so looks like i will ###### get a Maft setup now where a good place to buy charge pipes and the maft.

the translator can tune about 2% adjustment at 4 differnt preset RPM points. If setup in RPM mode. The SAFC can adujst at 1% adjustment at 8 differnt RPM points. but they are both piggybacks so they are really altering the airflow to compensate for fuel. and like talondude stated it would be bennificial to have a logger of some sort.

For the UICP, dejon tool makes some nice ones that goes to the SMIC location to stock TB location and allows for the 3" GM MAF in proper position. As for not wanting to replace any parts on future upgrades, well it sometimes is envidable and can be quite bennifical, you could sell the stock routing pipe to another DSMer and buy a short route FMIC, which is much cleaner IMHO.

But yes the translator will allow you to keep the vented BOV with minimal driveability issues.

Sorry you replied when I was typing, but dejon tool has good prices for piping, and they even sell the translort to save on shipping charges. www.fullthrottlespeed.com made the translator so buying it from them will ensure you get a real translator. Since I have seen people sell ebay "translators" that have some misc CCA inside and does not function. IE Buyer beware.
