ok, i just installed my autometer phantom oil press gauge. My autometer gauge is reading "0" at idle and only goes up a quarter of an inch under full acceleration, while my oem gauge is reading WAY higher than normal. This is how I installed the gauge: I read that you should use a "T" on your stock gauge so it doesnt throw a CEL (which is on anyways in my car for another reason). So I installed the new sender and ran a new wire for the new gauge. Instead of using a "T" I just cut the end off the stock sender wire and put a connector so i can put it onto the "screw" on the sender and tighten it down with the nut. So on my sender "screw" I have the oem wire and the new sender wire. what is wrong here!?! PLease respond ASAP because I drive ALOT and cant afford to leave my car down for too long. Thanks a million to whoever replies -Matt

Ok, i just installed my autometer phantom oil pressure gauge. When i started the car back up it reads "0" psi, and when I drive HARD it gets around 20 psi but then drops back down to "0". Then I read on here that average idle psi is 11.4 sooooo.... since my stupid gauge reads to 100 in increments of 25 it does me absolutely no good, right? tell me if I am wrong here (which i hope i am) -Matt

ok, I know Im not the only one out here who "t'd" the sender wire, instead of "t'ing" with a brass fitting and running two seperate sender units. (one for the autometer gauge, and one for the OEM gauge.) The autometer tech guy helped me out, and now my autometer gauge is working fine and I have the OEM gauge unhooked. (Im going to see if it'll throw a CEL) Thanks alot -Matt

hey, thanks defiant for replying! my oil pressure seems high. It seems to idle just about at 15 (which is almost normal) but under WOT I hit 100 psi. Is this normal or should I be soncerned? One other person asked this before because the had the same readings as me, but noone responded to their thread. Thanks again for your help. -Matt

Apparently the 100 is about normal, although it's awfully high for the stuff I'm used to. They read it right at the oil pump output, so by the time it gets to the bearings it's more in-line with what they want to see.
