Toronto,
I'm looking to purchase a TURBO FWD tranny from someone who claims that it is out of a '93 car. Is there any way I can physically distinguish between a '90-'91 tranny and a '92-'94 tranny? Are the serial numbers the same?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

First off, it is 90 and then 91+ for trannys. 90 is the oddball.

Second, I think 91+ has rubber "vents" and the 90 does not...but I am not completely sure on that.

The other way to check is the spline count, I think 90 is 22 and 91+ is 23.

Just curious (never really messed with the tranny yet) Will the '90 tranny not work on other years?
