Differences on a 90-91 AWD and 92-94 AWD??

I recently saw that the 90-91 AWD and the 92-94 AWD have some differences like on the eprom computer and the tranny or something like that so i would like to know some of the differences that these cars have?? I searched already but don't find anything. So if you guys could help me it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I highly doubt you found nothing after search on this. for one thing the 91 ecu is the same as 92-94, only 90 is different. That was right off VFAQ.

the 90-91 have a 6bolt, 3bolt rearend, smaller front calipers(awd), and popup headlights.
the 92 can have a 6bolt 4bolt combo or a 7 bolt 4bolt. no popups still smaller calipers. 93-94 have larger 2 piston frt. calipers 7bolt 4bolt combo and no popups as well. small exterior changes occured in 92 along with the removal of the popup headlights(slightly different spoiler, change in tailights(mainly talons) etc.. hope this helps you out

yeah but supposedly the ecu changes and the transmission or the transfercase or something like that i'm still not sure of the differences.

93-94's have better trannys, and more aggresive cams.

The only reason they changes the ECU's is because, when they first came out the ones with EPROM's would make it easier for the factory dealer to make changes and improve if needed. On the later models they didnt need eproms anymore.

i'm about to acquire a 93 for parts... it has better cams? should i swap those into my 90?
oh one more difference, 90s have stock external oil coolers

Yes. The 90 cams are junk.

the 90-91 also have a built bottem end, well atleast they are better then the other years, good for 500hp

Umm.. Most poeple who did the cam swap seem to claim no differences was noticed.

the 90-92 w/ 6bolt have the bigger rods that is why he said they are more built.and i have seen to difference between 90 and 91+ cams, the difference is in the fuel map and timing curve in the ecu.

That would be 91-94, only 90 is different. Yes they are different, I'm just saying not enough to notice on the butt-dyno.

Hum..interesting. Were you able to verifield what he posted? Seems like only one guy agreed with and the rest still think 91-94's are the same. I'll have to do some more search on this, thanks for the heads up.
