upgrading to a 135a Alternator...

is there anything else i need to upgrade? i decided to go with the 135a amp alternator from AlterStart. Its only 230 bucks and has lifetime warranty. Should I upgrade anything else besides the wiring from the alternator to battery?

By the way...reason for upgrading alternators is because I'm running a 1000Watt stereo system and stock alternator isnt cutting it. I also have a YELLOW Top Optima Battery

If you upgrade your wiring from the alternator to the battery, then upgrade the wire going from the battery to ground.

One thing you need to find out - Does the alternator charge the battery at idle RPM at 135amps? Or do you have to be on a highway going 4000RPM for it to put out 135amps?

800rpms is 65 and 1600RPMs is 135 amps...which is fine ### my car will idle high with dsmlink and my new setup

Found some info...
"Alterstart: screw those crooks. Me, as well as another 2G owner in NYCCDSM got their high amp alt. Mine lasted 4 months, his lasted 2. Started charging low (running off battery at idle, slowly took more and more RPM before it would start charging) I sent it back to them "there's nothing wrong with it" and sent it back to me. I put it in until it got worse and was hardly charging at all, send it back to them a month later. "Ok we put in a new rectifier" and sent it back to me. Still would not charge at idle (12v running off battery) and wouldnt start putting out more than 12v until 1.5k rpm. Then in a month it was up to 3k rpm again. Took it out and took it to a local alternator repair, and my expensive 140amp alternator was really only putting out 90amps all along. Sent it back to Alterstart "theres nothing wrong with it we're sending it back to you" when I told them its discharging the battery at idle and doesnt put out over 13v until 3k rpm they say "oh thats normals that what you need to get 135amps out of it" "uh, then why is it only putting out 90amps" "its normal its your car we're sending it back" "then why is another guy with the same car with your amp having the same problem? why was it putting out 13.5v at idle when it was new and 14.2+volts at anything over 1k rpm? why did it get worse?" "we're sending it back... bye".
