If anyone has looked through this thread, they would know I have all four Evo 8 calipers and Evo 9 rotors lying around the house. These will be a phenomenal upgrade from the puny GST combo. :) I also have to purchase the steering knuckles that will accomodate for these new calipers.

The "problem" is that now I have to look for some rims and tires. The tire option is pretty obvious to me: Kumho MX rubber. However, I am very picky on the rim choice. If I had the money, I would have custom-made 17x8.5 inch rims that look exactly like the OEM 5-spoke 16" rims I have right now. I was thinking about doing this a couple years ago, but have completely abandoned that idea altogether. It would be sick, but I definitely don't have the money to waste on that sort of thing.

So what comes with bigger rims? Wheel/fender gap. :barf: Of course, I already have that, but it'll look even worse without modifying the suspension.

Do you see where this is going?

I know I'm not the only one. People upgrade to DSMLink, then injectors, then turbos and front mounts, and so on and so fourth.

I'm just a little pissed off because a little brake upgrade is going to transform into almost revamping the entire suspension system... on a GST no less! :toobad:

This is what I get for trying to save a few bucks.

I hear you :p

My plans started out as just a stock rebuild and 16g.
You know how everyone says you'll get sick of an evo3 and upgrade shortly after? Well I haven't even slapped a 16g on yet.

Good luck on your project! Be sure to post lots of pics :)

its a never ending battle. keep with it you will be happy in the end. besides its a dsm, did you expect anything other LOL good luck

An end goal for the car gives you something to work towards other than just a never ending spending battle which would leave one unsatisfied that his project isnt near complete...Otherwise its easy to get discouraged not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel...
Set your goals wisely and in the most cost efficient manner. Ask yourself is the evo brake upgrade is still worth it, its not too late to scrap the idea and sell those evo brake parts... Will it save you more money in the future? Give you more money to play with going a different brake route perhaps?
Enough rambling, Good luck on your future choices for the car .

Suspension would be nice but you don't need it right away. 17's won't look out of place at stock ride height. ...But definitely choose wisely on the wheels. And the MX's are making for a great street/autoX tire for me.
